Cambridge Health Profile

Some interesting data visualizations in this report about health in the Cambridge area (other reports here). Lots to dig into, but among the things that struck me are how much difference to life expectancy it makes being in the least-deprived 20% of Cambridge’s population (see below), and the comparisons with the rest of England. Cambridge scores noticeably worse on homelessness, violent crime, physically active children and hospital stays for alcohol-related harm; and particularly well on diabetes and adult obesity. So we’re getting knocked off our bikes on the way home from the pub while the kids stay in and play on the Xbox.
